Media Release - Department of Water and Energy Date: 24 April 2008 PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION ON THE DRAFT TUMUT RIVER MANAGEMENT PLAN The Department of Water and Energy is hosting a public information meeting on the draft Tumut River Management Plan at the Tumut Golf Club on Wednesday, 30 April from 7pm.
Manager of River Works Management, Digby Jacobs said that the meeting was an opportunity for the public to ask questions about the proposals in the draft plan and develop a greater understanding of the breadth of issues that the plan seeks to address.
“The Management Plan has taken longer than expected to develop due to the diversity of issues that need to be addressed, reflecting the complexities of the Tumut River and its tributaries,” said Mr Jacobs
“We are keen to have as much feedback as possible from the broader community on the draft plan as it will help set the direction for management works on the Tumut River for the next ten years,” Mr Jacobs explained.
The Draft Plan can be viewed at the local DWE office (Fitzroy Street, Tumut), the Tumut Shire Library (Wynyard Street, Tumut) or the Wagga Wagga City Council Library (Baylis St, Wagga Wagga).

Submissions close on the 6th June.
