Media Release - Department of Water and Energy Date: 30 May 2008 REMINDER TO MAKE A SUBMISSION ON THE DRAFT TUMUT RIVER MANAGEMENT PLAN The Department of Water and Energy has issued a reminder that submissions on the Draft Tumut River Management Plan will close on the 6th of June 2008.
Manager of River Works and Management, Digby Jacobs said the draft plan has been available for public comment since the 21st of April and that the Department and the Tumut River Advisory committee are keen for feedback from the community.
“All submissions will be collated and then considered by the Tumut River Advisory Committee with the final recommendation being put to the Minister for consideration by late August,” he said.
“Once completed the plan will set the direction for management of Tumut River erosion control works, including rocking eroded banks, native vegetation and willow management and the strategic management of anabranches for a period of ten years,” Mr Jacobs said.
The Draft Plan can be viewed at the local DWE office (Fitzroy Street, Tumut), the Tumut Shire Library (Wynyard Street, Tumut) or the Wagga Wagga City Council Library (Baylis St, Wagga Wagga).

Submissions must be made in writing and directed to Ms Hope Webb, PO BOX 10, Wagga Wagga 2650 and be received by close of business on 6 June 2008.
