ALGAE LEVELS DROP AT COBRAM BAROOGA

Chairman of the Murray Regional Algal Coordinating Committee, Richard Scott today down graded the blue green algae alert issued last week, for the Murray River at Cobram Barooga.

“Continued monitoring has shown that the cell counts have dropped enough for the red alert to be replaced with a lesser amber alert,” he said.

Under the new amber alert, the water is safe for recreational use however it is not advisable to drink the untreated water.
