Hunter Regional Algal Coordinating Committee
The Hunter RACC coordinates responses to algal blooms in the Hunter region. Local water-body management authorities are responsible for the appropriate notification of alerts, primarily through the issuing of media releases and erection of appropriate signage to identify algal blooms in water-bodies under their jurisdiction. A copy of the current Algal Management Framework and Guidelines for the Lower North Coast, Hunter Valley and Central Coast can be obtained from the Hunter algal co-ordinator by phoning (02) 4904 2500.
The Hunter RACC coordinates the dissemination of these individual algal alerts to other RACC members and the broader community through the Department's algal telephone 'hotline' and alerts notifications on this website.
