In April 2007, the Department of Environment and Climate Change NSW assumed responsibility for the programs outlined in this section of the site.

This section of the department's website contains information on NSW wetlands, and their conservation and management under the NSW Wetlands Management Policy 1996 . It also provides information on the government's Wetland Recovery Plan , which will focus on restoring two of the State's most significant wetlands - the Macquarie Marshes and Gwydir Wetlands.
